ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE TRAINING
Building Trades Program

This course introduces the student to the environment of the building trades industry. This training is a 16 week fast track training strategy designed for persons interested in building-trades employment and who anticipate taking union-apprentice employment exams.

Skills acquired: Housekeeping, how to clean carpets; buff and strip floors, Obtain OSHA Hazardous Certification
Preferred requirement: A high school diploma or G.E.D clean criminal record. TABE Reading level 8.0 and TABE Math level 8.0 scores.

Minimum requirement: TABE Reading level 7.0 and Math level 7.0.
Classroom hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Make-up hours: Monday – Thursday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

BUILDING MAINTENANCE
Building Trades Program

This course introduces the student to the environment of the building trades industry. This training is a 12 week fast track training strategy designed for persons interested in building-trades employment and who anticipate taking union-apprentice employment exams.

Skills acquired:

  • Basic Plumbing Installation and Maintenance
  • Basic Residential Wiring Installation and Maintenance
  • Basic Carpentry /Basic Painting and Finishing

Preferred requirement: A high school diploma or G.E.D clean criminal record. TABE Reading level 8.0 and TABE Math level 8.0 scores.
